Amanda Heap, nee de Valk, has been practicing boat and yacht design since 2013. 

For 11 years Amanda apprenticed under master boat designer Bruce Cope, of COPE aluminum boats, with her last 4 years there in the role of lead designer. During that time Amanda amassed vast experience designing for a diverse range of applications, from concept to completion, catering to both private and commercial clientele, including many well established names in the boat building industry. Amanda’s comprehensive understanding of aluminum boat and yacht design principles results in creations that optimize style, performance and functionality.

Amanda is a professional licensed engineer registrant with the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC. She graduated with distinction from Westlawn Institute of Marine Technology where she received high praise for her work. Amanda holds a professional membership with the American Boat and Yacht Council, an organization that develops global safety standards for the design, construction, maintenance and repair of recreational boats.
